The 9th Annual Brown & Gold Cup is here!
Please read the entirety of this message, as there is a lot of important information here.
Firstly, thank you to Premier Bone & Joint for their continued sponsorship.
Attached are the tee sheets for Saturday morning Four-Ball (2-man best ball) and Saturday afternoon Foursomes (2-man alt-shot).
For the morning best ball, players receive 80% of their handicap applied off the lowest in the group. In the attached tee sheet, you will see your 80% handicap. That number will be adjusted down so the lowest handicap in the group is zero. Golf-genius is unable to produce this number on the tee sheet printout, but it will be correct in the round and scoring.
For the afternoon alt-shot, partners on each side combine those course handicaps. The higher-handicapped side gets 50 percent of the lower-handicapped side's total course handicap, and the lower-handicapped side plays off scratch. Alt-shot is alternate drive/even-odd holes, so you must decide with your partner who will tee off on the odds and who will tee off on the evens.
If you want additional clarity, you can see a complete handicap analysis for each round under the “tee-sheets” tab. Handicaps effective Friday, 6/6, are in place for the entire weekend.
Side Games: Optional $5 skins and $5 deuce pot for Saturday morning best ball, front 9 holes only. For Sunday we will have $10 skins and $10 deuce pot, all 18 holes eligible.
Pace of Play: We will strictly enforce the pace of play on Saturday morning. Please stay ahead of 15 minutes/hole (2:15 for the front nine). JMC modified local for rule out-of-bounds/lost balls is in effect. Groups are expected to self-police lost ball search time (3 minutes max from start of search).
If you are no longer in contention in a hole and will be using your partner's score, you should pick up to improve the pace of play. We will not post Saturday scores to GHIN, but you are expected to post your score. Please refer to USGA guidelines here and here for posting match play scores.
The entry fee does not include green fees or cart fees. Jacoby has offered us a great rate of $60 for the weekend if you need to pay green fees. If you would like to ride some or all of the rounds, carts will be $15 per person per round. Green fees and cart fees can be paid directly to Jacoby before the event. There is a maximum of two carts per tee time!
Payouts: For this event, all payouts are in cash. Members of the winning team will receive $60 per person. Regardless of team membership, there is $40 up for grabs for each match/point won. So, if your pairing wins your Saturday morning match, each winning player gets $20 ($40 total). If you tie, all players will receive $10 ($40 total). If you win all your matches and your team wins, you will receive $60 + $20 + $20 + $40 = $140.
If you need to cancel: Please call/text Brian immediately (307-399-2324) so we can get an alternate in.
